What you need to start

A recent CDL school graduate
A valid Class A CDL in hand before HC-PHX can hire you
Doubles/Triples endorsement by your road test — not at application

What the program looks like

You'll train with an HC-PHX Driver Trainer for a minimum of seven weeks — a FedEx program requirement — covering observed hours and behind-the-wheel time.

Seven weeks is the floor, not a finish line. You move up to regular driver status after successfully completing the required training and qualification process.

Timing

Student applications are accepted year-round.

Start timing depends on trainer availability. Every student trains with a trainer, so we won't put you in a truck without one ready for you, and we won't give you a start date we can't hold.

Do I need a teammate?

No. Most of our drivers came to us on their own. During training you're with a trainer; after you qualify we'll talk team options.

What happens after I qualify?

You become a regular HC-PHX driver at $0.72 per mile. Further on, experienced drivers with strong safety records can move into Driver Trainer roles.
